Tayside Mountain Rescue Heroes
Superhuman efforts, one kilometre at a time

When they’re not rescuing people from Scotland’s rugged mountains, Tayside Mountain Rescue are busy raising the funds they need to keep their life-saving operations running. This year, the team embarked on an incredible Coast to Coast challenge, cycling an unbelievable 52,000km across Scotland – a feat powered entirely by female muscle and a shared sense of purpose.
To create a strong identity for the fundraiser and unite the team, Tayside Mountain Rescue Heroes turned to us for a logo and merchandise design that captured the essence of their mission and their brand.
Pain Points
The client needed a visual identity for their Coast to Coast challenge that:
- Reflected their outdoors-focused mission.
- Highlighted the women-only nature of the event.
- Aligned with their existing branding for continuity.
- Was bold, memorable, and unifying for participants.
Dee from Tayside Mountain Rescue approached us after seeing that we had previously worked with us on a successful fundraiser for “Doing it for Dean,” which raised over £23,000 for MS awareness. Because of this, the team knew we could deliver a design that resonated with their goals and audience.
The Mission
- Design a logo that reflects the rugged and outdoorsy nature of the Tayside Mountain Rescue mission.
- Emphasise the women-only aspect of the event.
- Ensure the design ties in with their core branding for a cohesive identity.
- Create shirt designs to give participants a sense of unity and pride during the event.
the Delivery
Our final design combined the spirit of the Scottish outdoors with elements that celebrated the strength and camaraderie of the women taking part in the Coast to Coast cycle. The logo was bold, distinctive, and perfectly aligned with Tayside Mountain Rescue’s existing brand.
We also extended the design to custom cycling shirts, worn by the participants throughout their journey. These shirts not only helped to visually unify the team but also reinforced the identity of the fundraiser, creating a strong sense of community and pride. The designs were incredibly well received, both by the participants and supporters of the event.
- The logo and shirts helped create a recognisable identity for the fundraiser, building momentum and support for the challenge.
- The team successfully raised over £4,000 to support their essential rescue work, thanks in part to the attention and engagement generated by the branding.
